ONLINE AUCTION FOR A BETTER LIFE ANIMAL SANCTUARY
We were excited to hear about another farm animal Sanctuary in WA - A Better Life Animal Sanctuary - and pleased we had the resources to host an online auction for them in November this year.
A Better Life Animal Sanctuary is set on a 200-acre property near York in the wheatbelt and while they don’t have the funds to adopt every animal, they also help with finding new homes through their adoption program.
They have been able to find more good homes for animals through this program than they would have alone, as the numbers of animals that need new homes is sadly immense.
While primarily they provide a home for farm animals, they have also adopted native animals, dogs and rabbits, as well as sheep, rams, cows, pigs, alpacas, goats, chickens, roosters, and more.
A Better Life Animal Sanctuary is committed to giving farm animals a new, better life. Many of the animals who they have found a forever home were saved from abuse or neglect, while others were simply unwanted or abandoned.
As a not-for-profit organization all their funds go back into the direct care and rehabilitating orphaned or sick and injured animals. They hope to educate and raise awareness of living a conscious, ethical life that excludes the exploitation of animals.

URGENT ONLINE AUCTION FOR KOALAS IN CARE & KOALA RESCUE QLD
We hosted an Urgent Xmas Auction for 2 organisations: Koalas in Care and Koala Rescue Queensland.
Both of these groups have rescued and saved animals suffering in the devastating fires that have swept across NSW and Queensland.
KOALAS IN CARE INC is a non-profit organisation and a registered charity run by volunteers and has no paid employees. Licensed by the Office of Environment & Heritage, our operational area covers approximately 843 000 hectares across three Local Government Areas – Greater Taree, Gloucester and over half of Great Lakes.
This vast area contains a wide spectrum of climates, soil types, vegetation communities and ‘people problems’ which affect the koalas living within the area.
KOALAS IN CARE INC is independently operated and is based in Taree, New South Wales, Australia. Although KOALAS IN CARE INC was only established in July 2005, our founding members, Paul and Christeen McLeod, have been working with koalas in this area since 1993.
Our volunteers are committed to the welfare and preservation of our wild koala population and their habitat. We operate a 24hr koala rescue service for sick/injured/orphaned koalas and work 365 days per year. Our Facility is not open to the public.
Our organisation receives no recurrent Government funding and relies on the kind generosity of the public for donations/bequests and support. This along with our own fundraising enables us to care for and rehabilitate the koalas that are admitted for treatment thus ensuring that the koalas have the best chance of recovery so that we can return as many as possible back to the wild. ~ http://www.koalasincare.org.au/
Koala Rescue Queensland is a not-for profit 24 hour rescue service for sick, injured and orphaned koalas throughout Queensland.
Based in the Sunshine Coast we receive calls from far and wide; we will do whatever it takes to save our favourite Aussie Battler! We also provide transfers from vets, hospitals, carers and other rescue services to wildlife hospitals. Unlike other koala rescue services we have no time frame or travel boundaries, therefore we are able to service the entire Queensland area as best we can.
Not only do we work with koalas, we also work with schools and communities to promote awareness about habitat protection and the risks associated with the decline in koala numbers from dog attacks, road trauma and diseases. We also regularly plant new koala food trees in Queensland to promote future habitat for our koalas. ~ https://www.koalarescueqld.org/

ONLINE AUCTION FOR POSSUM VALLEY ANIMAL SANCTUARY
We hosted an online auction for Possum Valley Animal Sanctuary (PVAS) and called it "World Animal Day".
Our auction started on 4th October which is World Animal Day and we couldn't think of a better way to commemorate animals than an auction for a farm animal sanctuary.
Chris and Mark (the founders of PVAS), have regular day jobs and although that helps with some of their bills, they still need support from their community to keep the sanctuary running for over 170 animals in their care.
We love supporting the WA farm sanctuaries and will continue to host auctions for each of them every year.

ONLINE AUCTION FOR ANIMALS AUSTRALIA
We hosted an online auction to support Animals Australia.
Our online auction started on the 30th of May which was the 8th anniversary of the ABC 4 Corners screening of "A Bloody Business".
The footage garnered by Lyn White AM (Member of the Order of Australia) who is Investigations Director and Director of Strategy for Animals Australia, brought the treatment of animals within an overseas slaughterhouse into stark focus and shocked most of us (here and overseas).
It also compelled a lot of us to question our ethics and research the treatment of "food" animals in our own country.
The truth of what was happening to animals in our own "back yard" was just as ugly and cruel as what was happening in Indonesia. This awakening propelled many, many people to become #Vegan. They no longer wanted to support this cruelty.
Our online auction was our way of saying thank you to Animals Australia for all the work they do every day to investigate and expose cruelty, educate and inspire the public, strengthen the animal protection movement and advocate for change. <3

ONLINE AUCTION FOR GREENER PASTURES SANCTUARY
Earlier in 2018 we had decided to pledge to do fundraisers for the 3 Western Australian "farm" animal sanctuaries from 2019 and into the future - for as long as we could!
We feel the 3 sanctuaries - Greener Pastures Sanctuary, Happy Hooves Farm Sanctuary and Possum Valley Animal Sanctuary are extremely worthy of our support not only because they work 24/7 to save and look after hundreds of animals, they are giving us all joy and hope. Hope for a better future for those animals who the majority of people see as "food".
So, our first auction for 2019 was for Greener Pastures Sanctuary titled "Happy New Year!" and we want to thank all those who supported the auction with donations and generous bids.
